PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing labels which enable labels each having a fluffy part excellent in appearance at its rim to be highly efficiently produced and in large quantities and labels of various shapes and dimensions to be produced in large quantities. SOLUTION: Since relatively opposite forces are generated in the label paper N in which weak paper strength parts L are provided, nipped to a first rolling pair 10 and a second rolling pair 11 by the first rolling pair 10 and the second rolling pair 11 which rotate in the same direction and with speed difference by driving devices ( not shown in figure), the label paper N are torn off at the weak paper strength parts L.
