PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cost reduced control device for a synchronizing mechanism for causing less impact in contact of a first engagement member with a synchronization member when the first engagement member being rotated is pushed against the synchronization member and put in engagement with a second engagement member. SOLUTION: The synchronizing mechanism is modeled for collision between an inertial object and an elastic object. A deviation between an actual position (Psc) and a target position (Psc_cmd) of a coupling sleeve is set as a state amount. An operation coefficient (VPOLE) of a switching function for sliding mode control using the state amount as a variable is set corresponding to the actual position (Psc) of the coupling sleeve in a step 1 before the coupling sleeve has contact with a synchronizer ring, and it is set for the thrust of the coupling sleeve to match predetermined target thrust in a step 2 before the coupling sleeve engages with a synchronized gear.
