PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose fatty acid ester excellent in mechanical properties as a fiber and excellent in process passableness, in an effective producing method by a melt spinning without giving the impact on the environment. SOLUTION: The cellulose fatty acid ester fiber comprises a composition comprising 80-98 wt.% of the cellulose fatty acid ester wherein at least a part of the acyl group in the cellulose fatty acid ester has 3 to 18 carbons and 2-20 wt.% of a polyhydric alcohol based plasticizer. The strength S (cN/dtex) and elongation E (%) of the fiber satisfy following formulas; 6≤S×E<SP>1/2</SP>≤10, 15≤E≤50. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
