PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boron nitride nano-scale composite structure, which was unknown until now and is difficult to break easily and has an unusual three-dimensional structure. SOLUTION: In the boron nitride nano-scale composite structure, a plurality of particle portions or branched-off portions are integrally arranged on an outside surface of a main stem shape portion. This structure is manufactured by heating a boron-nitrogen compound containing oxygen to 1700°C or higher and by bringing the generated gas into contact with polyacrylonitrile carbon fiber while continuing the heating.
