A plurality of light beams from light sources (41a-41d) form a line image on the deflection plane (46) of a light deflector (44) common to a first imaging optical system (42a-42d). The light beams reflected off the light deflector (44) are then reflected off a plurality of curved surface mirrors (45a-45d) before photosensitive bodies (4a-4d) are scanned by means of the light beams. The plurality of curved surface mirrors (45a-45d) are arranged on the same side with respect to a plane parallel with the main scanning direction and including the normal at the center of the deflection plane (46). The plurality of curved surface mirrors (45a-45d) have shapes different from each other. A tandem color imaging apparatus having a good optical performance and an optical scanner suitable for that imaging apparatus can thereby be provided at low costs.
