<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol analysis device for transforming input information consisting of various character strings to a proper symbol to perform a symbol printing. <P>SOLUTION: The attribute of the input information inputted from a symbol data input part 48 is analyzed by an input information analysis part 51, and a symbol fitted to the printing of the input information is extracted by a symbol extraction part 52. The symbol extraction part 52 extracts a symbol printable of the input information in reference to a symbol transformation condition stored in a symbol information storage part 54 and printable symbol information stored in a printer information storage part 55. When a plurality of symbols are extracted, only one symbol is determined according to a predetermined priority by a symbol determination part 53.
