<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and apparatus capable of forming high-grade images over a prolonged period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, a photoreceptor drum is uniformly charged and exposed with an optical system to form an electrostatic latent image, a developing roller bearing a developer is made to confront the latent image to develop the latent image, and the resulting visible image is transferred onto transfer paper. When the potential of the photoreceptor drum before exposure is represented by VD, the potential after exposure by VL and development bias voltage by VB, each potential is controlled in such a way as to satisfy 0<¾VD¾-¾VB¾<¾VD-VL¾<250 V to reduce the non-electrostatic adherence of a toner to the surface of the developing roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
