<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a device due to operation error of an user, by a simple structure and control. <P>SOLUTION: This paper carrying device comprises a staple tray temporary storing a bundle of paper, a rear end fence 51 and a jogger fence 53 aligning the bundle of the paper stored in the staple tray, an end surface binding stapler S1 and a saddle stitching stapler S2 conducting binding processing to the aligned bundle of the paper, a discharging hook 52a engaged with a rear end of the bound bundle of the paper and carrying the bundle of the paper, and a CPU controlling each of these means. When the device in a stopping state or a mode that does not bind the bundle of the paper, the discharging hook is moved to a first standby position that does not prevent movement in a direction orthogonal to a paper carrying direction of the end surface binding stapler. When the device is in a mode that binds the bundle of the paper, the discharging hook is moved to a second standby position that does not prevent the paper from entering the staple tray. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
