PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize multicast communication in a PON system by ensuring the security, avoiding waste of the communication band and omitting setting trouble.

SOLUTION: An OLT 1 and an ONU 5 monitor a multicast protocol, autonomously recognize an ONU belonging to a multicast group to assign an ONU-ID 22 and a corresponding encryption key by each multicast group, inform only the ONU belonging to each multicast group about an encryption key by other method, and perform encryption by the encryption key to ensure the security for executing multicast communication.
