PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens system suitable for motion picture photography or the like by providing a distance scale showing a subject distance on a focus ring used for manual focus operation and performing focusing by referring to the distance scale, performing focus correction by autofocus when focusing is performed by the focus ring, correcting non-coincidence between the division value of the distance scale and the subject distance actually brought into focus, then performing the focus correction by the autofocus by correcting the position of a focusing lens not mechanically interlocked with the focus ring, whereby the subject distance indicated by the distance scale is not changed by the focus correction. SOLUTION: When the manual focus operation is performed, a CPU 14 performs focusing so that the best focus is obtained by driving a tracking lens TL by autofocus control.
