PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device capable of correcting the variations of the output characteristics between pixel areas without interrupting the picking up of an object. SOLUTION: This solid-state image pickup device is provided with a plurality of photodiodes PD (PD11 and others) constituting a pixel; a read circuits RC (RC 11 and others) of the pixel output provided for each photodiode PD; a control means including switches Tr (Tr 111 and others) for controlling closing/separating of each photodiode PD to/from the read circuit RC corresponding to each photodiode; a memory 4 for storing image data to be outputted from each photodiode via each reading circuit RC; and a correcting means (entire control section 5 etc.) for calculating the correlation value of output characteristics between adjacent pixel regions from the image data stored in the memory 4, and correcting the image data on the basis of the calculated correlation value.
