摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method by which a high quality large-sized diffraction optical element is manufactured in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the diffraction optical device is performed by calculating an interference fringes pattern using a computer and recording the interference fringes pattern on a recording medium surface to form a master diffraction optical device 10. In the manufacturing method, after that, a reproduced image is formed on the position of a photosensitive recording medium surface 11 by irradiating the master diffraction optical device 10 with a reproducing light 14 for illumination. In the manufacturing method, at the same time, the interference fringes of a reproducing light 16 and a reference light 15 is recorded on the recording medium surface 11 by irradiating the recording medium surface 11 with the reference light 5.
