PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lance for refining molten metal with which the wears of the outer surface of a core and the inner surface of a housing, and the clogging into an annular gap between the core and the housing can actually be dispelled. SOLUTION: This lance 10 for refining the molten metal is provided with the housing 11 having an opening hole part 11a at the tip part and the core 12 disposed in the inner part of the housing 11 and also, having a taper-shaped tip end part 16. The tip end part 16 is formed as an annular blowing-out hole 19 at the interval with the housing 11 by projectively disposing a part thereof toward the outer part from the opening hole part 11a without coming into contact with the housing 11 and also, the outer surface of the core 11 and the inner surface 11d of the housing are made of cemented alloy or ceramics and also, the tip end part 16 is arranged so as to be freely fitted to/removed from a rear end part 17.
