PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a container for large-sized thin plates with a high transporting efficiency which transports a large number of large-sized thin plates at a time without causing damage or stains to the large-sized thin plates. SOLUTION: In the container for large-sized thin plates, having a frame body 11 and a plurality of shelf plates 12 disposed mutually at intervals upward and downward within the frame body 11, wherein large-sized thin plates are encased as they are placed on the shelf plates 12 in transverse direction, respective upper surfaces of the plurality of shelf plates 12 are made to have a curved shape which is of recessed form within a plane orthogonal to the direction in which the large-sized thin plates are supplied or discharged with respect to and from the shelf plates 12. On respective shelf plates 12, a large number of air injection holes 13b are formed only at portions in the vicinity of both the right and left ends within the foregoing plane, the holes being opened on the upper face of the plane, together with air passages 14 respectively in communication with these air injecting holes 13b, provided respectively with an air intake hole 14d on a part thereof.
