PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial tire for improving the durability while maintaining excellent uniformity and steering stability and having an extensive application range from automobile to trucks for heavy loads. SOLUTION: In the radial tire having radial carcass consisting of plies reinforced by cords, the cord is composed of double twist yarns produced by pulling and aligning a plurality of fiber yarns on which first twist is applied, and applying final twist in the reverse direction to first twist, the twist coefficient K expressed by the formula K = T(D/1.111)<SP>1/2</SP>, where T (/10 cm) is the number of twist of the cord, and D (dtex) is the total dtex number, is in a range between 2,450 and 2,900, and the elongation in the double twist cord under the load of 0.2 g/dtex is≤3.5%.
