A method of driving a plasma display panel for preventing a miswriting and a misfire as well as improving a contrast is disclosed. In the method, a first waveform is applied to sustain electrodes in an initialization period included in an initial sub-field of one frame. A second waveform is applied to the sustain electrodes in an initialization period of each of the remaining sub-fields following the initial sub-field.
