The lower pipe (1) of a telescopic post for a large parasol is equipped with a clamping unit (2) for the inner pipe, assembled of a ring (7), a circular element with elastic downwards pointing flaps (4a), a second ring (4), and a cap (5) with a central opening. The unit (2) can be screwed to an outer thread located at the upper end of the pipe (1). A threaded area at the lower end (3) can be joined to a base. The pipe (1) is reinforced with a pipe segment (6) accommodated inside.
