<p>The straw or similar material is chopped and simultaneously moved along a deflector (17) by blades (15) suspended from a rotating drum (16) and acting in combination with stationary counter blades (18). It is transported by a rotor (11) through a gap (20) gradually narrowing towards the outlet (21). The outer surface of the rotor (11) is provided with a multitude of parallel positioned axial grooves (12), resulting in the production of small cylindrical units when the material is compressed between the friction bottom (13) and the outer surface of the rotor (11).</p> |
