<p>The invention relates to a method of determination of anionic groups in pulp fibres comprising at least the following steps: collecting a pulp sample from the process, washing the pulp sample with water, removing excess water from the pulp sample, adding a volume of a dye solution to the sample, thus forming a pulp suspension, letting the dye solution to react with the pulp fibres in the pulp suspension, separating at least a part of the dye solution from the fibres, determining the dye concentration in the separated solution and calculating the amount of anionic groups in pulp fibres.
