It is intended to provide a means which enables the genetic applications (insertion into an expression vector, transformation, etc.) of human CaT1 gene, the clarification of the calcium absorption activity mechanism (the presence of a factor affecting the regulation of the calcium absorption activity of human CaT1, etc.) and the confirmation and new finding of a calcium absorption regulator. Namely, human CaT1 gene, its plasmid vector, a transformant transformed by this plasmid vector, a method of screening a calcium absorption regulator and a screening kit therefor, and a calcium absorption promoter are provided.
