Method for controlling the temperature of hot warm water heated in an instantaneous heater that is connected via heat exchanger (10) with a hot water circuit (18). According to the method a hot water valve is switched to a programmed preset value when a flow signal occurs in a flow monitor. In conjunction with this the water temperature is set using a regulator, dependent on signals from a temperature sensor, to a preset temperature value. An Independent claim is made for a device for regulating the temperature in an instantaneous hot drinking water heater using a PI or PID regulator.
