<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machine for an electronic component which makes constant the distance between exposures in unit time of a laser beam at the machining point against variations in the peripheral speed of the machining point due to the rotation of the electronic component having a non-circular cross section. <P>SOLUTION: In the laser beam machine for the electronic component, the electronic component 1 having the non-circular cross section is rotated and is moved in parallel with its rotation axis, and the laser beam 20 condensed by a condensing lens 4 is irradiated to the laser beam machining point of the electronic component 1 in the direction perpendicular to the rotation axis. The pulse interval of the laser beam 20 is controlled and varied by an encoder 18, a control unit 19 and a Q switch unit 13, according to a variations in the peripheral speed on the laser beam machining point on the surface of the electronic component 1 resulting from the rotation of the electronic component 1 so that the distance between exposures in unit time of the laser beam 20 on the surface of the electronic component 1 is made constant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
