PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a software license authentication system in which the interchange of a license key is concealed from a user in installation or the like of software. SOLUTION: The software license authentication system is provided with: a computer to be driven by an installer when installing software; and a license management device for inspecting a license management database and confirming the existence of unused licenses corresponding to user information when receiving a license acquisition request together with user information and computer identification ID from the installer, and when the unused licenses exist, reducing the number of unused licenses by one, issuing a license key to the installer and making the installer to continue installing operation.
