PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pull back only an excavator or the excavator and a subsequent pipe simply and repeatedly and correct the track before separation from a designed line becomes large and becomes uncorrectable and excavate again. SOLUTION: The pulling back mechanism of an excavator in a small aperture pipe jacking method provided with an excavator and jacking pipes is arranged in the rear side of the excavator and provided with at least two mutually adjacent connectable/separable pipe members, a jack disposed in one pipe member, and a pulling back device mutually jointing/separating the two pipe members by the jack and two pipe members including the pipe member provided with the jack.
