<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life of a terminal part while facilitating the thinning of a housing and to prevent damage to a card, in a card connector allowing different kinds of cards to be selectively connected to it. <P>SOLUTION: This card connector 10 is provided with: the housing 20 formed by spatially mutually superimposing partial parts of first and second housing parts 16 and 18 capable of housing first and second cards 12 and 14 having different shapes from each other, respectively; and the first and second terminal parts 22 and 24 installed in the housing 20 by being related to the first and second housing parts 16 and 18, respectively. The contact part of the terminal part 24 can be displaced between an initial position running into the housing part 16 and a retracting position disposed outside the housing part 16. The card connector is provided with: a second terminal part displacement mechanism 56 for keeping the contact part of the terminal part 24 at the retracting position when the first card 12 is housed in the housing part 16, and for disposing the contact part at the initial position when the second card 14 is housed in the housing part 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
