<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided image forming device which prevents a reverse printing phenomenon in which images reversely appear at every two pages of recording mediums when the recording mediums are bound together after image formation and the user reads the images by turning the recording mediums page by page, saves a recording region of a memory for storing image data for use in the image formation, and shortens a period of time necessary for the image formation; and to provide an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: When the image forming device is in a double-sided recording copying mode, if a long bind is set, i.e. if the recording mediums are bound along a side in a recording medium feeding direction (at the time of long bind copying), image data on odd-numbered pages out of images of an original read via a scanner section is stored in the memory as compressed data and image data on even-numbered pages is stored as non-compressed data. At the time of the image formation, print data is read from the memory by every page unit, and the non-compressed data is transferred to a printer section by inverting the sequence of the pages, whereby the printer section forms the images on the recording mediums sequentially beginning from the last page. On the other hand the compressed data are decompressed and transferred to the printer section according to the order of reading from a RAM. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
