<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-resistant luminous fluorescent fiber, continuously exhibiting excellent luminous fluorescence even under various conditions coming into contact with water, composed of a raw fiber having good strength and creep characteristics, hardly causing the problem of surface slip, and having characteristics such as lightweight; and to provide various fiber products obtained by using the water-resistant luminous fluorescent fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The luminous fluorescent fiber is composed of a nylon 12 containing a luminous fluorescent pigment, or is obtained by covering the surface of the fiber with the nylon 12 or a hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer compatible with the nylon 12. The luminous fluorescent fiber is suitably usable for ropes because of the strong fiber strength, no problem in the surface slip and the characteristics such as the lightweight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
