PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine in which the stator can be cooled surely. SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine 100 comprises a stator 20, a porous body 1 abutting against the stator 20, and a refrigerant supply hole 7 for supplying lubricant 9 to the porous body 1. The rotary electric machine 100 further comprises a case 3 for encasing the stator 20. The porous body 1 touches the case 3. The refrigerant supply hole 7 is provided in the case 3 in order to supply lubricant 9 for lubricating the inside of the rotary electric machine 100 to the porous body 1. Heat generated from the stator 20 is removed by the lubricant 9 through the porous body 1. The stator 20 can thereby be cooled through a simple structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
