OTDR MEASURING DEVICE AND OTDR MEASURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OTDR measuring device for identifying an arbitrary cable core wire by using characteristics of Rayleigh backward scattering light. SOLUTION: A polarization face has varying characteristics in response to vibration applied on an optical fiber 13, and the Rayleigh backward scattering light having the polarization angle is transmitted to a polarizer 25. The Rayleigh backward scattering light transmitting the polarizer 25 is given to a receiver 29 through a beam splitter 23 to be photoelectrically converted, and a signal processing part 31 generates an OTDR waveform expressing variation of a light receiving level of the Rayleigh backward scattering light to be displayed on a display part 33.
