PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a second contact part to contact a lamp center terminal by using heat generated during lighting of a lamp, even if the lamp is in an incomplete mounting position to a socket. SOLUTION: A socket 1 for a lamp E type comprises a socket body 10 having a recess part 12 to which a base 61 of the lamp E type is inserted, a first contact part 2 arranged on the inside peripheral surface of the recess part 12, and having a cylinder part 20 with a female screw to which the base 61 is screwed, and a second contact part 3 cantilevered on the inside bottom surface and having a contact piece of approximately rectangular shape electrically connected to the center terminal 62 of the lamp E type. The socket 1 further comprises a bimetal plate 4 mounted correspondingly to the second contact part 3, and thermally deformed in upward direction when heated, for moving a tip part 32 for a contact point of the second contact part 3 from downside to upside.
