摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser in which an element structure is manufactured easily, a power consumption is reduced and returned-light noises can be lowered, a semiconductor-laser driving device and a method for driving the semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: In a semiconductor laser element, an active layer is divided into two of an optical amplifying region 3 and a saturable absorption region 4 in the resonator direction. The region 3 and the region 4 are manufactured under conditions in which the semiconductor laser satisfies a bistable state. P electrodes 1 and 2 are formed to the region 3 and the region 4 in a separate and independent manner respectively mutually, and n-electrodes 5 and 6 are formed in response to the p-electrodes 1 and 2, respectively.
