PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify assembly work and the control of parts by making a sensor for detecting film and a sensor for detecting a DX code common and using the sensor by electrically switching the color of emitted light. SOLUTION: In the photographic processing device, a two-color light emitting diode 18 is used as the light emitting means of a detecting sensor used both for the sensor for detecting the film and the sensor for detecting the DX code, and also the device is equipped with an emitted light color switching means for switching the color of the emitted light to green and red, a variable gain amplifying means capable of amplifying a signal outputted from a light receiving means 19, and a gain switching means for switching and controlling the gain to high gain and low gain. In the device, the detection of the presence of the film and the read of the DX code are performed on the basis of the signal outputted from the variable gain amplifying means by a control means.
