PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a ruler for measuring the level of ceiling that can easily measure the level of a ceiling by a single worker, and can accurately inspect a camber of the ceiling. SOLUTION: The method and the ruler are provided with a fixed part 3 fixed to the ceiling 4, and a ruler main body 2 suspended vertically from the fixed part 3, the ceiling level measuring ruler 1 of the present invention provided with a scale 11 along the vertical direction is suspended from the ceiling 4 in the ruler main body 2, and the scale 11 of the ruler 1 is read to measure the level of the ceiling.
