SILICA-BASED COLOURED PIGMENT COMPOSITIONS

The invention relates to highly-dispersible pigment compositions comprising a silica-based mineral material which contains water-soluble organic chemical dyeing species in the pores thereof, whereby the majority of said species can be extracted from the aforementioned material in an aqueous medium. The inventive compositions are particularly suitable for the homogenous and lasting dyeing of polymer matrices, particularly polyolefin-type matrices, with very good transparency and turbidity properties. The invention also relates to methods of preparing said compositions and to the use of same as dyeing fillers, such as in polypropylene-based matrices.
