Combustion engine (12) operation method in which a an electric motor (36) is used to drive a compressor (electric supercharger) (34), while an exhaust gas turbine (26) is used to drive a further compressor (turbocharger) (32) for compressing the intake air. Control is via a closed control loop, based on the difference between a measured total charging and actual total charging pressure, which is then used to calculate an adjustment value for the electric supercharger. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program, memory in which the program is stored, control unit and combustion engine.
