摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for waste separation useful for separation of waste of recyclable austenite stainless-steel by a common magnetic separation method based on magnetization treatment technology by transformation from austenite to martensite. <P>SOLUTION: This separation method includes a primary magnetic separation process B, a cold-working process C, and a secondary magnetic separation process D. In the process B, waste 2 of ferromagnetic material is magnetically separated from waste 1 including an austenite stainless-steel of weakly magnetic material by using a magnetic force which does not attract the stainless steel. In the process C, the residual waste after removal of the waste 2 of the ferromagnetic material is subjected to a cold working, and a martensite phase is generated in the stainless steel in the waste to improve thereby the magnetization of the stainless steel. In the process D, the waste of the stainless steel having improved magnetism is separated from the waste of the non-magnetic material by separating magnetically through the use of a magnetic force capable of attracting the stainless steel having magnetism improved in the cold working process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
