<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phylactic/therapeutic agent for pathogenic bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli including O-157, Helicobacter pylori and Listeria through utilizing Basidiomycetes belonging to the genus Tricholoma such as Tricholoma matsutake, and to provide a food product containing the agent. <P>SOLUTION: The phylactic/therapeutic agent comprises as the active ingredient an anion exchange resin-adsorbed fraction of a mixture of a hot water extract liquid of the mycelia of Basidiomycetes belonging to the genus Tricholoma, particularly Tricholoma matsutake FERM BP-7304 strain and an alkaline solution extract liquid of mycelial residues left in obtaining the above hot extract liquid. This fraction has (a) 60-72 wt.% carbohydrate content on a glucose basis determined by phenol sulfate method and (b) 28-40 wt.% protein content on an albumin basis determined by copper pholine method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
