PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode that is reduced in thickness, is excellent in productivity, and is equalized in brightness in all directions by suppressing the variation of its characteristic for luminous intensity distribution, and to provide an LED light.
SOLUTION: The light emitting element 6A of an LED 2 constituting a near-field optical system is formed in an inverted-pyramid form and the k in the characteristic for luminous intensity distribution (I(θ)=k×cosθ+(1-k)×sinθ) of the element 6A is set to ≤0.6. In addition, the light emitting element 6A and an optical surface are integrally formed by the transfer molding method. The light in the X-axis direction radiated from the LED 2 and reaching a reflection mirror 3 can be radiated almost equally in the Z-axis direction by the reflection mirror 3, in a state where almost all quantity of the light is not offset in an effective radiation range. Consequently, a thin lighting fixture having a good outward appearance can be obtained, because the reflection mirror 3 has a large surface and no brightness difference occurs on the surface.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
