PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which enables a photographer to carry out zooming as desired by making the speed of zooming faster. SOLUTION: When the photographer manipulates a startup means while the power source of the imaging apparatus is off, the power source starts up to drive a zoom driving means and the imaging apparatus performs a series of processing up to photographing that an imaging processing system is actuated in an arbitrary zoom position.
