PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptic panel which has high accuracy of gap dimensions between substrates and has uniform gap dimensions over the entire surface of an image display area, a projection display device using the electrooptic panel, and a method for manufacturing the electrooptic panel. SOLUTION: In an area enclosing the image display area of one of a pair of substrates, protrusions which protrude toward the other substrate of a pair of substrates and abut on the other substrate are formed. The protrusions 25 are formed on the inner peripheral side and outer peripheral side of sealing materials.
