METHOD FOR DETERMINING DATA RATE OF USER EQUIPMENT SUPPORTING ENHANCED UPLINK DEDICATED CHANNEL SERVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a base station to determine the data rate of the user equipment for the enhanced uplink dedicated channel service.

SOLUTION: In a mobile communication system which comprises a base station controller, the user equipment which transmits a user equipment transmission power class information to the base station controller and a base station which has a table storing total transmission power corresponding to the transmission power class and supports the enhanced uplink dedicated channel service of the user equipment, the method for a base station to determine a data rate of the user equipment for the enhanced uplink dedicated channel service comprises a step which receives uplink channel condition information of the user equipment from the user equipment and receives the a user equipment transmission power class information from the base station controller, and a step which reads total transmission power corresponding to the received user equipment transmission power class from the table and determines the data rate of the user equipment by considering the uplink channel condition information and the total transmission power.
