PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the storage capacity of a recorder by eliminating the influence of spike noise caused by a recording medium itself thereby relieving a defective sector. SOLUTION: This recorder is provided with a means 2 for reading data from an area of no recorded data between a track from which data is to be read and a track adjacent to the track, and a means 3 using the signal of the data read by the means 2 to eliminate the influence of spike noise on a signal read from the track from which the data is to be read.
