PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a core while its heat efficiency is retained, thereby miniaturizing a fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a heat generation member which is conductive; an exciting coil which is disposed facing the peripheral face of the heat generation member and generates heat for the heat generation member by electromagnetic induction; and a core made of a magnetic material which is disposed opposite to the heat generation member with respect to the exciting coil. The surface of the core is formed such that the core has thickness on its internal face where magnetic fluxes passing though the core bend nearly at right angles and with respect to two faces that are nearly at right angles to each other.
