PRODUCTION METHOD OF AROMATIC CARBOXYLIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an aromatic carboxylic acid for obtaining crystals of the aromatic carboxylic acid where in dividing mother liquor separated from solid into two a solid content entrained in a purge liquid is reduced the purge liquid directly treated in a following step without feeding to an apparatus for recovering a solid content. SOLUTION: The separated mother liquor is supplied to a sedimentation tank (thickener) or a cyclone. The crystals of the above aromatic carboxylic acid remaining in the above separated mother liquor is sedimented there, withdrawn from the bottom of the above thickener or cyclone together with the above separated mother liquor and then sent to an oxidizing reactor, while a liquid having a low concentration of the above deposit is withdrawn from the top or middle of the above thickener or cyclone.
