PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To industrially efficiently obtain an N,N'-bis(trihaloacetyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine. SOLUTION: The method for producing the N,N'-bis(trihaloacetyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine comprises reacting a trihaloacetic acid halide with 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanedimaine in the presence of a base. In the method, the reaction may be carried out in a hetero atom-containing organic solvent.
