PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the installation cost of a stage difference solving elevator, to simplify the installation work, and to facilitate travelling of a wheelchair. SOLUTION: In this stage difference solving lift, an outside framework is formed of a base, which is formed from a square flat board, and a vertical standing framework. A driving unit area is provided with a hydraulic drive unit including a hydraulic cylinder vertically fixed to the base at a lower end thereof, a movable pulley hooked on an upper end of a hydraulic piston of the hydraulic cylinder, and a tractor belt wound around the movable pulley. Among four side surfaces of an elevator box body, at least two side surfaces of the three side surfaces except a drive unit area side surface are provided with a box body door. A plurality of control valves are provided in an oil pressure supply circuit of the hydraulic drive unit, and the control valves are selectively opened/closed for control to reduce the number of the control valves, which is opened, to the minimum number when starting and completing elevation to change the elevating speed.
