PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture absorbing packaging container which retains moisture absorbed so that a moisture absorbing non-organic compound, which is a desiccant, mixed in a thermo-plastic resin surely delivers its moisture absorbing effect. SOLUTION: The moisture absorbing packaging container is constituted, in sequence from outermost layer side, of a gas barrier layer, a moisture absorbing layer constituted of a moisture absorbing resin compound which is made of polyolefin resin mixed with moisture absorbing non-organic chemical compound, and a gas-blocking layer composed of a polyolefin resin. The moisture absorbing non-organic chemical compound of the moisture absorbing layer is further preferably the one whose main constituent is calcium oxide, while the gas-blocking layer is further preferably made of polyolefin resin mixed with moisture absorbing non-organic chemical compound or moisture absorbing organic compound or with a mixture of these two, and the gas blocking layer is preferably a sealant layer.
