<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head and an image formation device using it which prevents degradation in a printing quality even when pixel defects are present in light emitting elements. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of arrays of light emitting element arrays La-Ld capable of exposing the whole of an image region are set at the line head. A quantity of light sensor is fitted at the line head to inspect at the time of shipment from a factory whether or not pixel defects are not present in the light emitting elements. In the case, for example, where it is detected by this inspection that a light emitting element Gb of the light emitting element array Lb has the pixel defect, light emission of the light emitting element Gb is stopped, and an emission quantity of light of light emitting elements Ga, Gc and Gd included in the same light emitting element group is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
