PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable that can reduce bend strain imparted to optical fibers even when the cable is bent. SOLUTION: Optical fibers 13 are stored and arranged in the inner space 17 of a sheath 19, tension bodies 21a, 21b for absorbing a tensile force in the longitudinal direction are embedded in the sheath 19. In this case, a relation rf<Lr<Lt is fulfilled where rf is the core fiber diameter of the optical fiber 13, Lr is the dimension in the bending axial direction of the inner space 17, and Lt is the dimension in the direction orthogonal to the bending axial direction of the inner space 17.
