<p>The invention concerns a digital printing machine for direct non-contact sheet printing with a digital printing mechanism with free format in the peripheral direction, and a sheet transport system which is connected downstream of the digital printing mechanism, wherein the sheet transport system has grippers at its periphery holding the sheet.
